Hello; I just installed macOS high sierra. Now, as usual after a mayor upgrade, my Canon printer i-sensys LBP6300dn does not work anymore. Does anyone have a idea how to solve the problem or do I have to wait until Canon might bring a updated version of their printerdriver?
As I experienced until now, it is the Canon CAPT-Printerdriver which produces problems when updating MacOS. Do I have to trash the Canon Printer or does anybody has an idea for a workaround? On Canon-Site there is only the message: 'There is no driver for the OS Version you selected.
The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver'. Well, this does not really help! Thank you for any suggestion Pierre. I have a similar problem with my HP Color Laserjet Pro CP5525dn.most printing job go fine but when i print from excel or pdf converted from excel, i get printing errors or jobs disappear while spooling. It's definitely cause by MacOS 10.13 upgrade as I have 5 imacs/macbooks connected to this printer and the ones with Sierra work fine. HP does not have a supporting driver for MacOS 10.13.
I called their helpdesk and they are not sure one will be issued, despite the fact this printer is only 4 years old. Apple Support is also not able to help. Only option is to go back to 10.12 Sierra using Time Machine. I also lost the ability to scan to my MAC with high sierra with my Canon All-In-One. Since I use that a lot and am finding no direct proof that any printer is working on all functions with this new op system, I'm not sure what to buy. I doubt that Canon will do anything to make my older printer work. And drat I just bought a lot of ink from them. I guess after reading the above, I'd better try printing, from numbers, EXCEL, and doc programs.
If that works, I'll just wait and see if any company decides to support the new OS shortly. This is the first time functions were lost with a major upgrade. I love Apple.
I hate Apple. I don't understand how upgrading to High Sierra could reek such havoc. Yet, now my Canon ImageClass LBP6670dn laser printer will not print.
I did the obvious, downloading the driver from Canon's website for this printer which is clearly marked as compatible with MacOS 10.13 (High Sierra). Ran the installer; everything seemed fine. Then, I tried to add a new printer and none could be found. Went to the GO menu, held down the option key, selected Library/Printers.
Nothing there. I am a writer and I depend on printing a great deal. Can someone tell me how to fix this problem? Thank you, Paul. Austin. Up until the last High Sierra security update 10.13.2, my Canon LBP6670 (with the existing driver setup) worked perfectly.
I connect the printer directly via USB to my 2017 iMac 27' 5k computer. Since the update it reported that 'The printer is off line', which it wasn't? So, I deleted the driver (using the - in the printer system preference). To my horror, when I clicked the + to create a new printer driver, NOTHING shows up??? To be clear, I never used Canon's driver. I used the one supplied by MacOS.
Now, because the iMac no longer sees any printer, I can't even use a generic driver? This is a serious disaster! I own an Epson Workforce 3640 and an HP 8600.
Ever since this upgrade, the scanner function does not work on either. I've done the obvious of updating the software, making sure the signal is strong and connected, and deleting and reinstalling the printer. Still no luck. The printer does print, though with hesitation, after a message that says something like 'error-message s/e compact heavy.' What's strange is that the computer recognizes the scanner, scans, and then gives a message 'saving image'; however, when I look, there is no image saved. You would think with 210 posts with different printers and over months, Apple would respond with a fix of some sort, especially given that a printer/scanner is a part of being able to do basic tasks on a computer.
